My son and I visited Jolie Jungle in 2015, and we returned again in 2019 because we loved it so much the first visit, and we loved it every bit as much on the second visit. The location is in the middle of the beautiful jungle, along the road with the fabulous cenotes, so it is the perfect place from which to explore multiple cenotes.

It also is a great great great place for bird watching – we saw a trogon and a mot within 100 feet of the ‘clubhouse’. The clubhouse itself is one of the most beautiful pieces of jungle architect you can imagine, with a massive grass roof and elaborately carved wood railings, and open on all sides to the jungle all around.

This is where you can eat food cooked by a French chef for very reasonable prices (around $10 for an entree), play pool, watch for birds and listen to wild parrots, relax in a hammock, or play chess on a giant chessboard.

The rooms are individual Mayan style bungalows with grass roofs, nestled through the jungle. It was very much a luxurious boutique hotel in the forest.

And the staff were absolutely fantastic giving private boat tour to el cielo cozumel tips. The team all knew our names from the very beginning, and they couldn’t have been kinder. Oh, and we loved the gorgeous pool!

As well as offering excellent bird watching right from the clubhouse or the swimming pool, Jolie Jungle is just down the road from Reserva Toh, which is a conservation land trust. We took a guided bird tour there and saw over 50 species of birds, including a toucan and Anacapri. We plan to return to this gem every spring break because we loved it so!

They even have a few bottles of it for sale and make their own bath products for the bungalows using the local honey. Location is close enough to check out Puerto Morelos and passed a ton of cenotes on the way. The property at Jolie Jungle is excellent and brings you back to nature. It is a fabulous jungle escape!
